Ground Down Engineering, Inc. (GDE), which was founded in 2001 by Laurel A. Hall, P.E. and Jack C. Peak, P.E., is a professional consulting engineering firm offering a wide range of Geotechnical, and Environmental Engineering services. We specialize in providing hands on engineering and practical solutions to complex technical issues involving soil and groundwater.

Between our principals, GDE has over 34 years of combined geotechnical and environmental experience. Hundreds of successfully completed projects throughout Florida and the Southeast USA attest to our skills and abilities. We have provided these unique services to a wide range of clients.

With respect to insurance and certification, GDE maintains a professional liability insurance policy with coverage for one million dollars.

GDE is a certified woman-owned business (WMBE) with the State of Florida.

space Ms. Hall is the President and Principal Engineer of Ground Down Engineering, Inc. (GDE). She is the managing partner of GDE and her duties include management of the firm, technical review, as well as project management and technical design and analyses for a wide variety of geotechnical and environmental studies for both public and private clients throughout west and central Florida. She has over 26 years experience involving planning, management, and performance of geotechnical and environmental projects, analyzing and evaluating data and providing recommendations for over 8,000 geotechnical design projects.

space Jack C. Peak, Vice President
space Mr. Peak is the Vice President and Senior Professional Engineer of Ground Down Engineering, Inc. (GDE). As a Senior Professional Engineer, his duties have included technical review as well as project management and technical design and analyses for a wide variety of geotechnical and environmental studies for both public and private clients throughout west and central Florida. He has over 8 years experience involving planning, management, and performance of geotechnical and environmental projects, analyzing and evaluating data and providing recommendations for numerous geotechnical design projects.
